What is a Cover Letter?

A cover letter is a document that goes along with your resume/CV. It introduces you to the hiring committee.

Templates

Try matching your cover letter to your CV/resume. Using a similar theme and formatting will appear organized. Similar to a CV or resume, you will want to tailor your cover letter to the specific position you are applying for. You should NOT send the same cover letter to different organizations.

What is a Student Bio?

A student bio is a one-page document that will introduce you to your preceptors. It will be submitted to your clinical coordinator near the end of spring semester of your second year (dates will vary).

The writing center and career and professional development team can help in writing or reviewing your student bio.

What is a Personal Statement?

A personal statement is a 1 (never more than 2) page essay that shows why you are interested in the role, job, or residency program. It will highlight your skills, strengths, experiences, and desire for the position. This document should complement your other application materials without repeating everything that would be on a CV or application.
