Description
The Selected Topics in Medicine course includes content on dermatology, ophthalmology, and reproductive and cardiac physiology. For the dermatologic content, there will be a review of the associated histology and microbiology, an intensive look at pathologic conditions, and ultimately some clinical cases will help tie the dermatologic content all together. This will be followed by a review of neuro-ophthalmology and clinical presentations of conditions of the eye. In the third week we introduce the histology and physiology of reproduction. The final week of the course will be devoted to cardiac physiology. This Selected Topics in Medicine Course addresses three of the seven core competencies of the osteopathic profession (medical knowledge, interpersonal and communication skills, and professionalism).
