Description

The Women?s Health Course is structured to enable the student to gain the knowledge necessary to understand normal structure, physiology and function of the woman?s reproductive and genital systems. In addition, the student will gain an understanding of the pathological conditions that are important in women?s health, the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of conditions important to a woman?s well being. The course will examine diverse disorders that may afflict women, from reproductive issues to presentation of coronary artery disease. With this foundational knowledge base, the student should subsequently be able to understand, comprehend and apply, in interactive settings, knowledge of the pathophysiological processes (anomalies, disorders, diseases and neoplasms) that result in altered structure and function.
